Introduction  

A single specimen was captured by a boy at Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland in late September (or early October) 1932 and is believed to have been accidentally imported from North America.

Subspecies: Papilio glaucus glaucus

The nominate subspecies was first defined in Linnaeus (1758) as shown here (type locality: America). The population in the British Isles is represented by this subspecies.
