Help identifying white.

Post by NCC »

Hi,

Spotted three of these in a woodland clearing in Northumberland. Short, undulating flight. About the size of a 50p.

The markings are confusing me, any ideas?

Thanks.

Neil.

Hi Neil. That’s a female green-veined white.

See http://www.ukbutterflies.co.uk/species.php?species=napi for more info.

Yours is a particularly dusky individual.
