This critter posed a few problems for me during my trip last week to the Montes Universales in NE Spain.
It was small, akin to malvoides but doesn't look right for this species.
That said, I'm struggling to see what else it can be given the location and the time of year.
Anyone care to assist?

It looks like serratulae to me. All my books are packed, so I can’t check local forms, but just from general appearance that’s where I’d put my money.

Thanks for your input (again), Guy. I was never comfortable with this being malvoides; it just looks 'wrong'.
