Look like Chalkhills to me Goldie. Probably a bit early for second gen Adonis, did you see any male Adonis? If not then I think you're safe to put them down as Chalkhills :)

Thanks for that Bugboy, we didn't see any Male Adonis but it was so windy after the storm's last night, the butterflies were seeking any where out of the Wind  Most of the Chalkhill Blue Females were looking worse for wear when this one appeared looking so fresh I thought it could be an Adonis.Goldie :D

Not long ago, acclivity suggested a means for separating these two species by counting the rings on the antennae - see viewtopic.php?f=14&t=9755&p=131936#p131723

Your specimens appear to have around 23 rings, which places them nearer to Chalkhill territory. You might be able to do a better count on the original, full-size, images.

Hi! Mike , thanks for your Info, I've put another shot of the Butterfly in this post because you can see it's antennae better, I've looked at your Butterflies and info and I've counted mine but still can't count the rings right. I'll have to go with both of you on the fact it could be CHB. :)
If you'd seen the CHB Females has i did so worn also the Males, you'd have said Adonis right a way :D She even shrugged off a Male who approached her and he didn't even bother after that, which further made me wonder  Thanks again Goldie :D
