Post by John Vergo »

Hi
I have just been 5 days in the northern part of Italy, the village Anfo at the Lake idro, Lombardia 420m, I have an erebia that I am not quit sure of the ID, so if anybody can help I will be very pleasant, my own Id is Eribia styx. The photo was taken the 19/7-2018

I like this very much for styx (female, subspecies trigilites). Among other features, the steep outward sweep of the foremost eyespots is good. The only real possibilities are styx, styrius and montana. Of the three, montana is by far the commonest, and is very variable, but I don't think this is it.

I'd be interested to hear other opinions, but if I were out looking for styx and saw this, I would think I had found it!
