Hello All
I'm a new member so thought I'd introduce myself.
As title, I live in NW Leicestershire. Recent early retirement has allowed me to time to pursue new interests, butterfly spotting being one. My method of identification is to photograph what I see, then use internet resources to find out what I've photographed.
So far I've spotted around half of what may be expected in Leicestershire.
Look out for beginners questions!
Thanks
Graham

Hi Graham,
Welcome to UKB. You will always find someone to answer your questions on here, and never be shy about asking the most simple and (seemingly) straightforward. We all started from scratch and none of us will ever finish.
BWs, Neil

Welcome, Graham
As a starting point for identifying local butterfly species go to this page http://www.ukbutterflies.co.uk/species_ ... 9EPBbHb4_w and see if you can find it. More deatils can be accessed for each species by clicking on the species name e.g Orange-tip http://www.ukbutterflies.co.uk/species. ... 9EQ0rHb4_w (shown in green). If you are not sure or require confirmation then feel free to post a request in the Identification forum.

Hi Graham, and welcome.
I myself am originally from Evington (east Leicester) and I'd like to know which species you find in Leicestershire.
A small number of us on this site are full-time or part-time ex-pats dotted around Europe etc.. I personally have swapped Leicester for Marseilles, France
.
Cheers, Chris.
