I love all these ancestral trees that are being published with ever more detail as a result of biochemical analyses. Some of them completely change one's view of things (like the Maculinea/Phengaris discoveries) and all of them add a level of understanding quite unachievable until very recently.
It's interesting that true butterflies and skippers, long associated for morphological reasons, remain next to each other even in this analysis. Whatever conclusions science might come to in the future, the 'butterflies' will always hold a special place in my heart!

Yes - the first fascination remains with those fabulous, multi-coloured, childhood memories, full of sunlit days. butterflies and flowers.....
