Hi all,
Can anyone help with the ID of this Skipper taken in The Gambia (West Africa) on the 30th November 2009.
The closest I can get is the Lesser Millett Skipper?

It's either that or millet skipper, which also flies in West Africa. How do you tell the difference?

Hi Guy,
I have purchased a copy of Dr David Penney's 'Butterflies of The Gambia':
http://www.nhbs.com/field_guide_to_butt ... 72165.html
But this a a £10 book and is useful for the common species, it just says that the Lesser Millett Skipper is very variable and slightly smaller than the Millett Skipper, with more well defined markings on the hindwing...
I guess I really need a copy of the £190 Torben B Larsen book, "The Butterflies of West Africa"
