Sorry to continue with my 2008 butterfly 'gloom' up here in the rain and wind swept north, but the reality is close to a disaster.
Anyway enough of this, here is a rather nice looking Speckled Wood from my wanderings on Friday 29 August, and on a positive note I have seen c.26 Peacock today (Sat) at a couple of upland locations on the edge of the Forest of Bowland and if I claim this to be something of an amazing sighting then you will see what I mean about the summer of 2008.
