There has been a run of easterly winds up here in Scotland. Birders (including me) know that "falls" can occur in such situations. At Rattray Head, between Fraserburgh and Peterhead, I once came across dozens of tired Goldcrests that had unintentionally been blown across the North Sea.
Now, a birder - who admitted that he knew little about butterflies - recently reported seeing several large brown butterflies with a white fringe round the edges of the wings: they were feeding on thistles.
Spot the spoof. Quite easy in this case. But it is becoming increasingly difficult to believe anything these days. Politicians have been at the forefront of causing this public cynicism. Did anyone mention Conspiracy Theories? Ten years ago, I had never heard of Conspiracy Theories. Five years ago, I just dismissed them as nonsense. But today.....???

Aeroplanes only fly because we believe in them. Have you ever been up close to a 747? The size of it!
Those wings are tiny for something that huge...
If we all stopped believing at the same time, they would all fall out of the sky.

Yes, I had 'faith' for some 50 years.Aeroplanes only fly because we believe in them.
