With the weather here not so good at the moment I thought some of us would like to take a peek at some butterflies of the Kalahari Desert. It might cheer us up, or might make us envious! Some exotic Lepidoptera for a change. Someone on my lepidopterology forum has posted this article, I hope you enjoy it.

Re: Butterflies of the Great Thirstland
Great link, Phil, and thanks for sharing it.
Some hugely desirable species in those images, and nice to see the author using the term 'African Monarch' - Plain Tiger is simply too understated for this butterfly. Nice to see a Desert Orange Tip or two as well.

I'm glad you liked it David. I really enjoyed reading it, the author has a lovely way of writing and I must say I learnt a lot from the article. It's also nice for me to see a few more contributors on my forum. I've got members from Australia, Czech Republic, South Africa and the UK now and it is beginning to move along a bit. It doesn't feel as if I'm talking to myself anymore
.
Thanks for taking a look,
Cheers,
Phil.
