Large or Essex skipper

hello
so on Friday i went for a walk in a butterfly rich meadow, with both Essex and Large skippers in the area and then i saw two skippers with jet black antani (how do you spell it) and i was wondering what species it is

I would like to know if anyone has any thoughts on this matter

That's a female Large Skipper, Butterflyboy. This species has fairly extensive patches of darker brown on the upperside forewings, whereas both Essex and Small Skippers are a uniformly pale, sandy brown colour.
