Which Grizzlie species?

Post by Wurzel »

I recently got back from the mountains of central Portugal and was wondering whether the Skipper below was anything other than a Southern Grizzlie? I don't mind if it's not as it would only be the second that I've seen but I don't want to write it up (eventually  ) in my PD and then it turn out to be something different. It was taken at about 1000m above sea level if that helps? Thanks in advance. :D

HI Wurzel. I think malvoides (southern grizzlie) is the correct ID.

Looking forward to the rest of your Portuguese beauties!

Cheers for the ID confirmation Guy :D I didn't get to see any of the endemics or the 'big guns' (no Panoptes Blue or 2 Tailed Pasha) but I was happy to just experience seeing new and different species as well as the usual species is in different context eg Walls and Swallowtails in the middle of a city 8)
