Re: SPAIN EARLY 2014.
That's got my day off to a good start Russ. I'm glad you've got your Swallowtail, and that Provence Orange Tip is promising, it is also on my hunting list, but for me is due in the first half of April, a couple of weeks after the normal Orange Tip.
Cheers, Chris

That dry river bed looks like interesting terrain for butterfly hunting, and nice clear blue skies - not many people bathing though
.

Sunday 16.3.14 Sunny 20c
A short afternoon walk thru the local scrub turned up GHS, Holly Blue and Speckled Wood. Just as I was leaving the area, up jumped a funny looking bf, half small copper, half Green h/s, have you guessed what it is yet?

Re: SPAIN EARLY 2014.
As you say, you don't need me for that last one, Russ! I'm glad you picked it up, as although it's quite widespread in southern Spain it forms rather local, sedentary colonies and is easy to miss.

Re: SPAIN EARLY 2014.
Wow, that's cool Russ. I've never seen a Provence Hairstreak before, although in theory they stretch into the South of France, and with your Provencal Orange Tip, you're notching up some 'exotic' species. Whatever next?

Greatly enjoying this, especially the furry-footed hairstreak.
