Is this a Grayling of some kind

Hi all,

Just joined and have a butterfly that I can't identify.
The nearest I can get in my book is the Common Grayling, but would like to be sure, quite a few of these about in the dunes on Norfolk coast (Waxham to be precise). First one has a bit of a dark background, but second is a bit better. They're different specimens as well but look the same to me

Any recommendations for a book that has both open & closed wing pictures in it?

Hi Dave - and welcome! You've identified this correctly as a Grayling, which are masters of disguise, and always settle with their wings shut!

Many thanks to you both, I'm going to order the Pocket Guide and see how I get on. I'll probably end up ordering the other book as well as the reviews look good on Amazon.
The book I currently have is for Britain and Europe and quite confusing sometimes.
