This morning I encountered several Black-veined Whites. It was quite windy and quite cloudy, so when I saw one settling down on a hawthorn bush I thought it was just sheltering. But then I saw that she was ovipositing. She was so occupied that she didn't mind my taking several photos. In the space of five minutes she laid 24 eggs, then flew away. I hope I hadn't disturbed her too much.
