Re: Moths of Europe Volume 3
So the last will be Noctuidae then? That is the one I have been waiting for since you often find more noctuids than other types of moth and it would be interesting to see the variation in the noctuidae like they showed in the other species in the first two volumes. Have first two volumes, so going to order the third as well.
Cheers all,

Re: Moths of Europe Volume 3
I received my copy of this today. It is really superb and of particular interest to butterfly watchers because it covers the burnets - familiar day fliers that we all come across on our jaunts. In fact, my Swiss colleagues include them with the Rhopalocera and seem surprised I don't send in records. This volume has abundant illustrations - 63 photos of (set specimens of) Zygaena carniolica alone, presumably covering every form you are likely to see in Europe. It also covers the Pyralids - including those difficult Pyrausta species that so often appear on these pages.
The series will comprise 5 volumes in total. I don't know if they will save the Noctuids till last...

5? I thought it was only 4 volumes? BC magazine had it in it and it said there was 4 volumes, so noctuids must be the last one.The series will comprise 5 volumes in total. I don't know if they will save the Noctuids till last...

Re: Moths of Europe Volume 3
Hi Dave. I have it direct from the publishers' mouth that there are 5 volumes, not 4. So keep saving those pennies!
