Really surprised that no one else has commented yet on the wonderful quality and composition of this Common Blue on a stick...Top Shot nigpd.

Out of interest, how do you manage to resize your images to post here at UKB at this size and quality (what software is involved?) allowing of course for your obvious skill with your gear to begin with...

I was quite surprised too by the lack of response. I was beginning to think that it was a photo that instilled indifference in the viewer for some reason, although I thought it was pretty good

I use Photoshop CS4 to resize my images to a standard 1024 x 689 pixels

Thank for posting the image details along with a brilliant photo. It's helpful to numbskulls like myself to see what can be done. Was it manual or AF and viewfinder or live view?

It IS a lovely photograph, and I'm sure had the subject been, say, a Black Hairstreak people would have been gushing over it.

I guess Common Blues are considered a bit too..........er..common.

I was particularly impressed by the sharpness, considering that it was hand-held.
Canon have certainly got Image Stabilisation sorted on the 100mm Macro.

With a Sony every lens is image stabilised.

I always use manual focus with this lens and viewfinder in this particular instance
