I think Neil and Matthew should have their own TV series on butterflies. Half an hour once a week throughout the winter would keep me happy and fully butterfly fixed up.

Susie suggested:
How might we get to broadcasters to consider it?

That is actually a damn good idea Susie. They could do so much, and not just for our beloved butterflies. As last night's programme made clear, looking after butterflies helps many other things as well.I think Neil and Matthew should have their own TV series on butterflies

I'll write to them and suggest it. They're bound to listen to me.

I suggested a while ago (much to Neil’s embarrassment) that as he epitomises the modern day lepidopterist – the successor to Frohawk, South, Newman, et al - he should share his knowledge by writing a book.
But Susie’s idea is even better. Neil and that other great modern-day lepidopterist, Matthew Oates, have the potential to achieve a great deal above and beyond pure butterfly conservation. Television would probably be the better medium and in fact be less onerous Matthew and Neil.
Go for it guys. Go for it Susie - use your contacts.

Brilliant idea! If Johnny Kingdom gets a show about his year with his birds....Susie wrote:I think Neil and Matthew should have their own TV series on butterflies. Half an hour once a week throughout the winter would keep me happy and fully butterfly fixed up.

Cheers

To butterfly meadows, chalk downlands and leafy glades; to summers eternal.

And what's more,,,, they have all the qualities you need,,, none stuffy enthusiasm, not at all camera shy, a sense of humour, and an unerring ability to communicate. Likable personalities, and an astounding knowledge of the subject. Bring it on.
Cheers,,, Zonda.

An understatement if ever there was one. Charisma in abundance....a sense of humour...

They could do for butterflies what the two fat ladies did for cookery!
