It is a great pity they never took off at Wicken Fen - not sure if (when the Great Fen project gets further down the line) they will have more of a chance.
I used to work with a guy called Colin Nicholls who went on to do a dissertation about spider predation of Swallowtail larvae at Catfield Fen (as part of his degree at Norwich UEA I think). He took me out on to the fen itself one day about 20 years ago and we were surrounded by butterflies all day. Brilliant! If you are still out there Col, it would be good to make contact again.
