Today I have been at Horsey Gap in Norfolk to try & snap some DG Frits.
Quite a successful trip .
However I snapped this little chap with some different markings , can someone enlighten me as to what exactly it is ? Male? Female? Is it def a DG Frit?
This is a new species for me so very much in the dark!
Thanks
Angie

It's a girl! But definitely a dark green fritillary - well done.

Re: Dark Green Frit?
I have seen suffused females like this on a few occasions. Here is an old photo of one I saw in Hampshire.
Re: Dark Green Frit?
Hang on , confused (it doesn't take much) now.
Is this a normal female or is it a variation ? None of my books show markings of this type??

Angie,
Yours is normal, as is Roger's.
