Red Admiral variation
Forgive me if i'm completely off song here, but are the small white spots in the orange areas of the forewing on this RA an aberration?

Cheers,,, Zonda.
Re: Red Admiral variation
Over the years, I've seen individuals both with and without these additional white spots - purely guessing, I'd say one third with and two thirds without. Which doesn't answer the question, of course, but it is probably within normal variation.

I recall a similar thread a few years ago but can’t remember what the conclusion was.

Hi Zonda,
I've also seen both, in similar numbers, as in 3:1 or so, to Dave.
Cheers
