Some confusion

Hi Ian,
I would have ID'd that as Common Blue. There's no hint of the chequered wing edges you see in CHB and hind wing ground colour is more consistent with the dull colour of CB rather than the smoky brown of CHB.
The red parasite gives it away as a butterfly of chalk downland (I've only seen them there and only on Satyrids and Blues, but I may be wrong) but I would still plump for Common Blue.
Hope this helps but I will of course bow to anyone's else opinion!

Assuming it's a UK butterfly, then I agree - definitely a common blue.
