Re: New to photography....
Well I finally got my monopod (Jessops 330) for a bargain at £10. Only used it a little so far but one word - genius.
It didn't arrive in time for Somerset and I didn't take it to Spain. I started with Zonda's Dick Whittington style of carrying but I'm nervous of the camera dropping off so tend to have one hand on the camera. I'll see how it goes.
While walking along a lane in Somerset I came across a very agreeable Speckled Wood who kindly posed on a protuding nettle for a series of shots allowing me to play around with f stops. Personally in this instance, I like the F22 shot best.
Cheers

Re: New to photography....
I've been thinking about buying a longer macro lens, but it wouldn't have helped me get a shot of a Clouded yellow today, they were on patrol and very flighty.

Cheers,,, Zonda.

What macro lens do you have now?
I have a (non macro) Canon 24-85mm and now a 75-300mm which I am yet to try with the monopod but am looking forward to the results!
