When looking at article references, journals are often abbreviated. For example:
Abb.Naturf.Ges.Gorlitz.
Acta.Ent.Mus.Nat.Prague.
Acta.Soc.Ent.Bohem.
Acta.Soc.Fenn.
Actes.Soc.Linn.Bordeaux.
Amat.Pap.
Ann. Storia.nat.Bologna.
Ann.Acc.Agric.Torino.
Ann.Mus.Hung.
Ann.Sci.Observ.
Ann.Soc.Ent.Belg.
Ann.Soc.Ent.Fr.
Ann.Soc.Esp.Hist.Nat.
Ann.Soc.Linn.Lyon.
expand into:
Abhandlungen der Naturforschenden Gesellschaft zu Görlitz
Acta Entomologica Musei Nationalis Pragae
Acta Societatis Entomologicae Bohemiae
Acta Societatis pro Fauna et Flora Fennica
Actes de la Société linnéenne de Bordeaux
'Amateur de papillons
Annali di storia naturale
Annali della R. Accademia d'agricoltura di Torino
Annales historico-naturales Musei Nationalis Hungarici
Annales des sciences d'observation
Annales de la Société entomologique de Belgique
Annales de la Société entomologique de France
Anales de la Sociedad Española de Historia Natural
Annales de la Société Linnéenne de Lyon
Is anyone aware of any resource that provides these associations between short and long forms? Thx!
Cheers,
- Pete

Re: Journal abbreviations
Thanks Guy - yes, the information doesn't seem to be held in any one place and most websites I've visited (such as the one you provided the link for) are more "miss" than "hit"! I guess I'll just continue with the slow trudge of doing things the hard way!

Re: Journal abbreviations
This might be a case where Chat GPT comes in very useful. I copied and pasted your list into it and it furnished all the full names for that selection in one answer, in under a second:

They differ in some cases from what you have given, though!
