One of the burnet moths (six-spot?) at a guess, Phil, the same species for both caterpillar and chrysalis.
No doubt someone else will be more certain than I am!
Cheers,
Dave

Thank you
Understanding Life Cycles beyond ID
In someone's future:
'The Life Cycles of UK Day Flying moths and or UK Hawk-moths might be detailed, well referenced books, if someone or someone's team, doesn't have too many subjects to study, in the peace time given.
It was thought by someone, over 2000, British native moth species.
Was there a book, I did not know about?
#Lepidoptera (The UK special adult winged insects that don't, or might not bite, sting or prey on other insects).
Kind Regards
