Spanish skipper

Post by OwenE »

Had a skipper (or possibly day flying moth but I think skipper) earlier with dark wings and quite creamy spots. Flying today in el Rocio Andalusia.

Anyone got any starting point ideas?

Could possibly be Zeller's Skipper, Owen.

It's the right area.

That’s one of the names our guide said but I’d forgotten it. I’ll check some pictures

It looks similar. The spots are the right size and colour. Flight times seem wrong though. I’ll try and check again with my guide tomorrow and get the other names.
