Hello,
I posted the following on UK butterflies Facebook page today:
Painted Lady
“This incredible, inter-continental insect can arrive on our shores at any time of year as part of its 12,000km annual migration cycle”
Referenced: Page 4, Butterfly (magazine), Spring 2019, Richard Fox and George Tordoff

“If you have seen one flopping around in a field in November, like I had, not being able to fly over a hedge, after a mild frost, one might know that migration is temperature related and the hottest January temperatures in the UK, were about 16°C” (or 17°C? on the south coast).
Were you sure about your “any time of year” 2019 article, assuming you were talking about natural migration

How much butterfly body temperature was maintained, by continual flight (Flying to keep warm), so that they might fly a bit further, in possibly, slightly lower or decreasing air temperatures?
