Dan Danahar has contributed an article about the further development of Corfu Butterfly Conservation.
Membership has grown to over 500 people.
He did manage a trip to Corfu in August (usually very hot) and managed to see Krueper's Small White and Tree Grayling.

Re: European Butterflies Magazine
Just to say that I received the 2019 and 2020 editions through the post this morning, and read them both this afternoon. Both excellent, and really enjoyed the diversity of contributions and locations.
Looking forward to the 2021 edition already! Thanks Jason

Re: European Butterflies Magazine
The details and photographs for the fourth edition of European Butterflies magazine have gone to my designer now.
Design usually takes about 8 to 10 weeks (virus permitting), so the magazine should be ready middle of March.
Some more photographs taken in Serbia from Ervin Szombathelyi.

Re: European Butterflies Magazine
The cover of the new issue of European Butterflies has been designed now.
The option of using two photographs will give more flexibility in the future.
I will be able to present two excellent images from different contributors.
I hope this proves attractive to enthusiasts.

Re: European Butterflies Magazine
Two fabulous species on the cover, Jason, so as long as what follows is up to standard you shouldn't go far wrong!

Re: European Butterflies Magazine
I have received the first printed proof of the magazine.
There are a few amendments to make, so I anticipate the magazine will be printed in about 3 weeks time.
Here are some sample pages - Pete Smith - Queyras, Mario Langourov - Morocco and David Moore - Pyrenees.
The magazine covers butterflies in France, Corfu, Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Italy, Morocco, Serbia and Switzerland.

Re: European Butterflies Magazine
Received my copy yesterday, and read from cover to cover last night. Best edition yet in my opinion! Thanks Jason for providing such a great addition to the overall European Butterfly spotting literature.
Best Wishes

Re: European Butterflies Magazine
I still have copies of the 2019 and 2020 and 2021 magazine to sell.
If you are a member of the European Butterflies Group and have not yet sampled the magazine - this magazine is for you.
The magazine has a wider scope than the newsletter we receive from the EBG.
There are articles by the travel companies such as Greenwings, Naturetrek and Wild Echo.
There are contributions from enthusiasts living abroad such as Dave Maertens, Robin Fox, Dobromir Domuschiev, Gyorgy Liptovsky and Ervin Szombathelyi, as well as contributions from noted British enthusiasts such as David Moore, David Irven, Nick Morgan, Dan Danahar, Pete Smith and Jim Asher.
Buy 2 copies for £14.00, or see my website www.jasonsargerson.uk for more details.

Re: European Butterflies Magazine
Some delightful (and highly desirable) species in that collection, Jason. Hopefully 2022 will allow us to go and find some of them.

Re: European Butterflies Magazine
Pete Smith has written a comprehensive article for the 2022 issue of European Butterflies about the spring butterflies in La Palma, Canary Islands.
It is to be hoped that the unique butterflies found there recover after the volcanic eruption. Fortunately no lives have been lost, but there has been significant damage to property and infrastructure.
There are unique species found here, including Canary Red Admiral, Canary Blue and La Palma Brimstone.

Robin Fox has contributed an article introducing the butterflies of Croatia.
He often visits Zagreb and also the island of Bol.
In the local park in Zagreb he has discovered Lesser Purple Emperor and Large Copper - I wish this was my local park!
Just outside Zagreb, in the countryside, butterflies such as Southern White Admiral and Common Glider can be found.
Bol has some interesting butterflies including several species of Grayling.

Fabulous, Jason. Look forward to reading this.

David Moore has contributed an article about his three trips to Spain this year (lucky man!).
He concentrates on the rarer species and the Spanish specialities (endemics).
He visited the Picos de Europa in July, Monte Universales in August and Andalucia in October.
Representative butterflies were Gavarnie Blue, Iberian Sooty Copper and Plain Tiger.
