Caterpillar ID
I know this is not a very clear shot, but its the best I could get. I got this a coupe of weeks ago. At first I thought it was the camera lens that had dirt on it, but the caterpiller actually has the eye "dot" on it. Anyone have a clue what it is?

Cheers all,

Re: Caterpillar ID
Hi Dave - based on the number of legs, this is a sawfly larva.

Re: Caterpillar ID
Thanks, if I don't know what the caterpillar is again and I don't know if its a moth or butterfly one, if possible, I'll check thye number of legs, anymore than 5 could mean sawfly. Could anyone tell me what moth caterpillar this is? I found it on ivy a week or so ago:

Also, I think we need a main thread for caterpillar ID's as there seems to be so many appear recently
