Hello all
I have had my Canon 7D and 100mm macro lens for a few years now and would like to get them both serviced professionally. However, I have never done this before - where do I start?
I assume a Canon shop or retailer would be a good place but are there other options?
Thanks in advance,
Lee

Re: Canon camera and lens servicing options
Hi Lee,
The main service centre for Canon cameras is near Borehamwood, details here:
https://www.canon.co.uk/support/rcc/
I have used them a few times in the past, and found them very competent but not cheap. It is actually on the site of what used to be the Aldenham Bus garages where I spent many happy hours bus spotting in my distant childhood.
It is still a relatively short journey for me, but I guess you would need courier/postal services.
Others on UKB with more photographic expertise may be able to suggest other options. Maybe the Canon centre can recommend options more local to you.

Re: Canon camera and lens servicing options
The main centre Roger links to has official partners around the country, I think. I had the LCD screen on my Canon camera replaced very competently and for a civilised price in Colchester last year. Sadly, that shop closed this year, but the website (https://camera-repair.co.uk/) refers back to the Canon UK site.

Hi
These guys did an excellent job cleaning and servicing my bodies (2x7D MkIIs) and lenses (7 in total) - and, this is the crucial bit, - calibrating the autofocus for each lens with each body.
Best money I have ever spent on camera gear.
If you are searching for sharpness - auto-focus calibration must be the first step.
