moth for ID

Post by millerd »

Can anyone identify this little moth, please? There have been a lot of them flying near me recently, regardless of the weather.

It's a Caddisfly Dave. Not as foolish a mistake to make though since it's thought the first ancestral moths evolved from an early Caddisfly. :)

Thanks, both of you. :) I realise I have only ever identified caddis fly larvae in their little stony cases in the water, and never known what an adult might look like. You learn something every day! :)

Cheers,

Dave
