Hello all
I wonder if anyone could identify the attached dragonfly image for me please.I saw it in my garden in Suffolk yesterday,and I can't find it in my insect book.Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.

It's a hawker, and if I had to guess I'd say it was a female Common hawker, but I'm sure someone with far more knowledge on the subject will put me right.

The white 'tack' mark on the first abdominal segment plus the separated pale spots on the last segment are both indicative of migrant hawker. Colouration is typical but by no means conclusive of a female, but the tail claspers are definitely female.
