A Moff

this had recently died in an old building in Northants

what sort of Moff is it please ?

I think its a Herald ,Charles ,they do overwinter in old buildings and suchlike , if not ,one of the thorns ,can,t see enough
of the topside to be sure . Regards Allan.W.

i did notice that none of the Heralds here have the wings in the "Up" position....

Hello again Charles ,
All the Heralds that I,ve caught or found overwintering are all as shown in those pictures on Google Charles ,but then I,ve never found a dead one !
Early thorn sits with its wings closed at rest butterfly wise ,and Purple Thorn ,sits with wings half cocked ! but for me it is still a Herald.
