Butterfly Identification

Can anyone identify the attached butterfly.

It was found in a garden in Livingston, Scotland.

Expect it was an escapee.

Almost certainly an escapee. Looks like one of the North American Tiger Swallowtails.

Do you have any tropical butterfly houses anywhere relatively close to your home? If not, it might be a captive bred individual that managed to escape.
