Spotted at a nature reserve in bristol.

You have a White-letter Hairstreak there. Well done, not always to easy to see since they spend the majority of their life in the canopy of Elm trees.

Indeed. They aren't all that rare, but they are seldom seen at close quarters so can surprise those who are unfamiliar with them.
