Just thought everybody might like to see this image. A first timer for us in the garden after 16 years.

Lesser purple emperor has a rather patchy distribution in Normandy. Further south, it is found in pretty well every large wood, but not in Normandy.
If you have a dog, forget those hygienic plastic bags and let it leave plenty of good, smelly excrement around your garden!

We don't have any dogs but we do have plenty of boar, deer and foxes in the garden. There are also lots of horses in neighboring fields.
