
I managed to get the egg in focus through the eyepiece on the microscope and then set up my compact on a tripod, set it to "super macro" and put the self-timer on. By fixing it in place, right next to the eyepiece, I hoped the camera might just pick up something. Didn't really expect it to be able to automatically focus on the image but it did this surprisingly well. Considering just how small the egg was, some shots were quite pleasing. This was one of about 4 "keepers" from countless tries. The egg reminds me of a cactus, or a sea urchin made of glass. Beautiful
