Hello: sorry to bother but I saw the character in the picture earlier today and assumed (with the seeming blue sheen) her to be a female Common Blue Butterfly but I'm now wondering whether it might be a Brown Argus Butterfly. The picture probably isn't too helpful but any guidance will be super-appreciated.

Yep Brown Argus as far as I'm concerned. The blue sheen is just the light reflecting of the hairs on the body and base of the wings. Common blue females don't have that rich chocolate brown colour.
