Emperor Moth

It's a day flying moth, so half counts

Can anyone recommend some reliable locations for seeing these on the south coast (Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, Dorset) this April/May I guess for the flight time?

It's a species I've never seen but it's been a long ambition to see and photograph them.

Any info would be much appreciated

I have never found them to be predictable and only very rarely seen (perhaps scarce in some years).



Beginning of April 2004 one at Spring Dyke and another at Mill Hill, Old Shoreham, Sussex. These seem to be the only two recorded in the last seven years.

This is on my list of wanna sees for 2008 too. They are supposed to be at Buchan Country Park in Sussex, but I am not holding my breath ....
