I've been trying to find out how to re-size images stored in Picasa so that they can be posted on UK Butterflies.
First attempt:

I sympathise, Rob. I've been messing round with this for over 2 years and still haven't perfected it.

Last one. Some people are able to put in larger images, don't know how yet:

David,
so glad to hear that it isn't just me alone in the deep space of IT ignorance!

Because they don't host them on UKB. They provide a link ( using the img tag) to the image hosted elsewhere.robpartridge wrote:Last one. Some people are able to put in larger images, don't know how yet:

Re: resize test
Would it be possible to have a "posting for dummies" article on the site as I struggle with the IT know how sometimes (okay a lot of times) too and would like to post larger images as well?

Re: resize test
apologies if I'm teaching egg-sucking but your photos, in the above tests, enlarge if you click on them.
They may need a further click on the + sign to reach the original size, depending on the size of your own computer screen. The small-scale version is simply designed to fit into the blog pages.

Re: resize test
I think I'll update the FAQ since, while it exists, it doesn't answer some basic questions. In the meantime, I just searched for "posting large images" and this thread seemed relevant:Wurzel wrote:Would it be possible to have a "posting for dummies" article on the site as I struggle with the IT know how sometimes (okay a lot of times) too and would like to post larger images as well?
