Hi,
Spotted what I thought was a Dingy Skipper this afternoon on the edge of Woodbury Common, East Devon, on a wooded bridleway. Got home and am now unsure?
Sorry its not a great photo!
Thanks
Andy

Definitely a moth - a Latticed Heath?

Hi Andy,
I think that's a common heath moth (Ematurga atomaria). It's certainly not a dingy skipper or a Mother Shipton.

Agreed. Mother Shipton's have a defined 'witch's nose' pattern on their forewing, whilst Dingy Skippers have robust bodies and very markedly clubbed antennae.
