Identification.

I was sent this photo by a friend who would like an id.
I could check which country she was in if needed.
Its not a good photo at all sorry.

The closest I could come up with was a Northern Crescent but it could be another species in the genus such as a Tawny?

From the picture alone, without location information, I think northern crescent is the best bet. The open areas on the hindwing and the narrow markings near the base of the hindwing are good indicators.
