Hi all
Could I ask for a second opinion on this record shot? My feeling is Adonis but it would be the first female found on my local site!
Thanks
Lee

Hello Lee,
A while back someone put forward a theory ,concerning the white rings on the antennae ,off hand ,can,t remember the actual method, but i tried it
on several pictures and it did seem to work ie; so many rings for Chalkhill and more (or less) for Adonis ,have a look back through the forums.
For what its worth ,I reckon its a Chalkhill ,no hint of Blue on the hindwing lunules ,but as we know they are B@@@@@S to seperate.
Regards Allan.W.

Oh goodness, that's a tough method! Thanks, Allan, I'll have a look.
There are blue scales on the lunules, although not many. You'll have to zoom in though!
Best wishes,
Lee

Hello Again Lee ,
Just found that formula (ie; counting antennae rings ) its17-18 (19-21) for Adonis, and 26-27 (24-25 ) for Chalkhill . I counted the white rings on yours and i make it 20 ,so that would put it in the Adonis frame ......................I stand corrected !
