Has anyone a specific description and/or explanation on this seen yesterday on Horsell Common, Surrey, yesterday?

Hi Ray - it could be the light reflecting strongly off the leaf on which the butterfly is perched - the green tinge is a very similar shade and the leaf is very brightly sunlit. I've certainly never seen a Speckled Wood where the butterfly itself itself is intrinsically green.
Others may know otherwise of course!

I agree with Dave's assessment in that it's a reflection from the leaf. I often get the same effect which I usually remove with a few tweaks in post editing
