I'm pretty confident that these are Glanville cats but I just want to check as I saw at least 5 at a mainland site last weekend where I don't think they've been recorded previously. Cheers in advance.

To my eye's at least the hairs look a little bit on the long side, especially to the rear. Also the one visible true leg looks to be orange/red and I think Glanvilles have dark legs. Could it be a Cream Spot Tiger? Apologies if I've rained on your parade...

No worries about the shower that's why I asked.

I know next to nothing about cats - the red head and black body of a Glanville being one of the few that I know hence my wild leap

Just another reason to purchase "Lifecycles of British and Irish Butterflies"

I'd say Cream-spot Tiger too

Glanville are more 'spiny' and have white freckles between the segments in later instars, along with a characteristic "Mr. Hitler" moustache

Cream-spot Tiger for me too. Timing is right for them to be wandering off to pupate
