Rewell Wood Pearls - 6th May 2017
On the 6th May 2017, I met up with Neil, Susie and a few others at Rewell Wood in West Sussex for some Pearls. It was a splendid day, and I learnt a lot about the habitat requirements of the Pearl Bordered Fritillary.

Cracking set of Pearls Lee

Looking at your shots and comparing them to some of mine form this year I was surprised that they seem to have different 'tones' in different years, your ones undersides seem more peachy than those from this year?

Lovely PBFs, Lee. They have an almost Shepherd's/Mountain Fritillary hue to the outer third of the underside hindwings.

Adonis at Denbies - 13th May 2017
At sunset in mid-May, you will find me at Denbies. I just love the 'golden hour' and the warm light it gives.

If I am able, I go to Denbies several times in mid-May for the late afternoon and early evening. You know why.
