Not been able to visit France this year gave the opportunity to catch up on some UK species absent from my UK folder,
The Large Heath, this species had eluded my many attempts to see it in France.
The Heath Fritillary common in France but uncommon in the UK
and also the equally rare High Brown Fritillary.

These are my three choices for the annual photo competition.
Large Skipper mass gathering on tufted vetch at Crowle Moor NR, Lincolnshire.
Comma f.hutchinsoni feasting on buddleia lochinch in our butterfly garde.
A wonderful contrast of blue and orange with the Common Blue on fox and cubs in our butterfly garden.
