A single red admiral seen yesterday afternoon in Woodmancote Gloucestershire when we had a rare day of sunshine and a brief respite from the atrocious weather we've been experiencing in the Wild West recently

Had a fly-by Comma in Ascot today, brightened up a busy workday somewhat!

Re: November 2012
Yesterday 28th November, I was very surprised to find a torpid small tortoiseshell in my kitchen sink under some cartons that were propped up in it to drain before being taken to the recycling centre. One of its wings was a bit wet as it was in the plughole! I took it outside where it woke up a bit in the sunshine, then I moved it into a netting hibernation cage in the garage. I'm in Lancaster.

Peacock basking in the sun outside on a pane of glass - despite the minus tempatures this morning.
