Not much to finish off March today - just six butterflies, but one was another new male Orange Tip.

I booked my ticket down into Sussex on Friday when the forecast was promising sunshine aplenty. It seemed it was another abject failure from the weather people but come 1pm the clouds parted and the butterflies appeared. Peacock and Brimstone vied for dominance, perhaps 15 - 20 each. Only 2 Comma, 2 Red Admiral and a single Small White added to the mix though

Sunday 31st:

On another day where the forecast was promising only for things to deteriorate just after midday, I saw 2 male Brimstones and 2 Commas at Cwm Ivy:

My first Small White yesterday in west London suburbs & another male Brimstone in a window of sunshine.
